To ensure your trophy arrives to us in good condition please follow these simple guidelines.

Tips for skinning and shipping:

  • If skinning your own animal be sure to leave enough hide for shoulder mounts. This should include approximately 12 inches behind the shoulder. Do NOT slice through brisket.
  • Prior to packing for shipment specimen should be thoroughly salted and dried. Be sure to use NON-IODIZED salt and to thoroughly cover all areas of flesh side. After salting, spread out flat to dry or roll flesh side to flesh side. If lying flat, moisture will pool and should be drained periodically. Rolled hides should be placed at a slight incline to allow for drainage.
  • Prior to packing for shipment place all dried items in double bags (paper bags are best).
  • In order to minimize problems when hand delivering an item it is best to either freeze game/hide immediately or deliver immediately. Do not salt a hide which will be frozen.
  • If freezing or immediate delivery is not feasible keep game as cool as possible and deliver as soon as possible. Hides which have begun to rot are not usable/salvagable.
